Intern in Croatia


          Live in the capital city of Zagreb, Croatia for a 4 week summer internship in June 2016. A stipend of up to $4,500 is available to help cover roundtrip air travel, local lodging and living expenses

          Croatia is a small and beautiful country with a vibrant community, including fully dedicated and experienced mediators (judges, lawyers, non-lawyers from many professions) working together and building new democratic institutions to better communicate and peacefully solve differences and manage conflicts and disputes.  Students will observe first-hand the practice of alternative dispute resolution in an emerging democracy through daily involvement with the activities of the Center.

          Any student interested in pursuing an international internship experience is welcome to apply, but preference will be given to students pursuing an interest in human rights, alternative dispute resolution, and judicial reform in Southeastern Europe.

          The plan and budget portion of the application is part of Global Programs requirement for their international stipend which extends beyond this internship.  When completing the application, this portion does not have to be extensive. The Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution will help coordinate the budget and plan for the Croatia internship once a participant has been selected. 

          When filling out the application you can submit the following:


          Flights  - $2000

          Accommodations $1500 - $2000. 

          Food and other living expenses - $500

          For four weeks you will be working with the Foundation for Sustainable Rule of Law Initiatives interning at the Croatian Mediation Centre.
